Another 17 RNLI lifeboats, requisitioned by the Admiralty, took part in Operation Dynamo. All but one (from Hythe Lifeboat Station) made it home, although several were badly damaged.

The lifeboats came from: Aldeburgh, Newhaven, Dungeness, Walmer, Hastings, Clacton-on-Sea, Walton and Frinton, Southend-on-Sea, Eastbourne, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston, Southwold, Lowestoft, Shoreham Harbour, Hythe (now Littlestone-on-Sea), Poole and Bournemouth, plus one newly-built, unallocated lifeboat.
